The Gloucester County Democratic Committee’s Eldridge N. Cook Impact Scholarship Fund
Mr. Eldridge N. Cook (1915-2024) was a renowned business man both known locally and across the state for his work in the seafood industry, creating jobs, and expanding the seafood trade. Mr. Cook’s impact was keenly felt in as a leader in the Gloucester community, through his philanthropy endeavors, and in the many ways he help the citizens of Gloucester County and beyond. His generous donations of funds to various foundations continues to help pave the way for many young people to achieve their dreams. Mr. Cook supported our local Democratic Party for many years and made it possible for us to promote the many important values needed in the past and continue to be needed today.
GCDC’s Eldridge N. Cook Impact Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Gloucester High School senior to enable the pursuit of their academic or career goals.
Eldridge N. Cook Impact Scholarship:
2025 Recipient - Armani Billups
The Gloucester County Democratic Committee annually awards a $1,000, community-funded scholarship to a deserving Gloucester High School senior planning to attend a two- or four-year college or trade school. Eligible applicants must meet their institution’s GPA requirements, be active in school and civic organizations, and have completed volunteer hours in both areas.
2025 Recipient: The first annual Eldridge N. Cook scholarship recipient was awarded to Armani Billups. Armani is currently attending the College of William and Mary.
